Pierce Lake is breathtaking, sitting in the high basin below Mount MacFarlane, surrounded by steep forested slopes and rocky ridgelines. It’s the first of two alpine lakes along the trail, with campsites, clear water, and expansive views of the surrounding Cascade peaks. It’s a fantastic spot for an overnight or a well-deserved break before continuing on the trail.
