Pen Coed rises to 1,181 feet (360 m) in the Cambrian Mountains region between Machynlleth and Welshpool. It's higher ground is the home of untamed ponies, while you'll see plenty of cows and sheep on its slopes. Here, the Glyndŵr’s Way long-distance trail passes along its southern flanks.
