The Réunion Aquarium is a private aquarium located on an artificial island in the center of the Saint-Gilles-les-Bains marina.
Opened in 2000, it offers visitors a tour that begins with the fauna of the lagoon and ends with the fauna of the cliffs. The interactive scenography was designed by French artist Pierre Luu. The aquarium features more than 700 fish from 180 different species, including blacktip sharks, stingrays, leopard sharks, angelfish, and surgeonfish.
