Once a railway line, the Confederation Trail now forms the island’s longest off-road hiking route, stretching nearly 450 km from Tignish to Elmira.

Its flat, crushed-stone path makes for an easy, steady walk through PEI’s countryside, past red-soil farmland, quiet forests, and small local communities. Along the way, you’ll spot wildflowers in summer, bright foliage in autumn, and plenty of wildlife.
