    Hiking

The summit of Cranstackie is a fabled place, amazing views across to it's bigger neighbour Foinaven, across the very deep Strath Dionard. Like it's close neighbour Beinn Spionnaidh the summit plateau is covered in a huge boulder field made of Quartzite blocks, some of which are stable and some are not so extreme care is needed. The views to the north are also extensive, toward Cape Wrath and the Kyle of Durness where you can make out the fabulous beaches such as Balnakeil, and also Faraid Head with it's RAF observation post for the bombing range along the north coast.
