"This sculpture moves away from the plant world and instead focuses more on people and their encounters. It's like coming together; you can't immediately tell where it's leading or whether recognition is taking place. There's a TOWARDS approach from both sides, and as in real life, you either pass each other or you stop and find someone opposite you, a conversation, a smile, a recognition—the paths cross... so they say. My formal language makes hard things appear soft; the lines create a flowing lightness that's unusual for stone."
