The Levada do Rei (PR18) hiking trail on Madeira leads through one of the most beautiful sections of the island's laurel forest. The route runs alongside the irrigation channel (levada) on mostly level terrain and offers a peaceful, nature-filled hike with moss-covered walls, small waterfalls, and lush greenery. Very muddy in wet weather and only manageable with rubber boots or barefoot for a length of approx. 12 m. Furthermore, despite low utilization, relatively busy according to the portal. Payment is checked periodically.
