On weekends it is a bit busy, you have to pay attention to the hairpin bends

Be careful of heavy vehicles and sharp bends. For the rest, except on holidays, the coast can be driven with ease but never exceed the speed limit.

Fantastic views from the street! The Amalfitana offers views of the steep coast and the Gulf of Salerno. A winding, mostly narrow road was built here about 100 m above sea level and runs along the rock outside of towns. The road crosses small valleys open to the sea, where the towns of the Amalfi Coast such as Positano and Praiano are located. From Amalfi the road then continues eastwards past Atrani, Minori and Maiori to Vietri sul Mare.

The road leads from Meta di Sorrento to Vietri sul Mare, is entirely in Campania and is 50 km long. The work on the road was carried out between 1832 and 1850.
