What is normal for us and what isn't has everything to do with how we educate ourselves, what values we uphold, what we socially accept, how things are discussed in society, and how we ourselves talk and think about them. How tolerant or narrow our subjective normality is depends heavily on the diversity and nuance of our education. Last but not least, sometimes you have to experience something firsthand to truly understand what it's about. We can clearly see what we've established as our status quo. What remains beneath this surface, our minds may have no concept of.

This highlight is part of the hiking route “Grenzweg Stadtgebiet Arnsberg,” a municipal meditation on the Arnsberg urban area on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the municipal reorganization of 1975. The hike in ten stages was developed at the invitation of the Arnsberg Cultural Office in the funding program #ARTinprogress of the Kultursekretariat NRW in Gütersloh, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
