Great view. The Hennigsdorf border tower preserves the memory of times of the Wall.

The new museum in the Hennigsdorf border tower, Nieder Neuendorf district, is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in November. Then the winter break follows until mid-April.

The command tower of the 38th Border Regiment was rebuilt here and is now used for an exhibition. Be sure to stop and take a look!

The border tower on the shore area in the district Nieder Neuendorf is one of the last existing watchtowers of the GDR in the former border section Berlin. It was built in 1987 as a command post of the Border Regiment 38 "Clara Zetkin" for 18 more border towers. After reunification, it was preserved as a "witness of the times" and has been open to the public since November 1999.

    With a worth seeing exhibition

I think it's great that this watchtower was allowed to stay where everything was torn down immediately after the fall of the Wall.

Located directly on the Berlin Wall Trail, if the opportunity arises you should enjoy the view from the tower.

A scenic place that is part of the Mauerradweges, but also stimulates thought.

On the whole, really a great bike path, but I have already driven through the gravel a small pointed stone has gone through my ceiling. The result was a flat tire front, but so I could practice changing the hose on the roadside 😉😊

One of the last preserved watchtowers of the Berlin Wall. From April to October, an exhibition in the tower can be visited.

Have driven past it several times, but took the time to visit the exhibition today. Logically only a small selection due to the space available in the tower, but some originals in good condition. Replacing the poplars with white willows was definitely a good idea.
