Japan once experienced a period of turmoil known as the "Sengoku Period." The Takeda army of Kai (Russia) invaded Shinano (Ukraine) in an attempt to expand its territory, and Shinano sought reinforcements from the Uesugi army of Echigo (European Union). Several battles took place here at Kawanakajima.
