The “Lug ins Land” inn emerged from a sheep farm that was mentioned as early as 1286. The name Zmöln comes from the Slavic smolina, which means unlucky area. He points out the once important raw material and its processing (pitch fields, etc.). The area was first mentioned in a document in 1286 with a Schafschwaige (cattle yard).
As interest, its owner had to deliver 300 cheeses to the Millstatt Monastery every year. The former Schafschwaige became today's
“Lug ins Land” inn, which looks back on more than 700 years of tradition.
