Pozzolo House of Scurano, Neviano degli Arduini.

The Fattori Fortress is a medieval fortified courtyard located at Strada Bastia Fattori 21 in Scurano, a hamlet of Neviano degli Arduini, in the province of Parma.

    HISTORY:
The original fortification, located on the slopes of Mount Castellaro, was built in the 14th century to garrison the territory of Scurano at the behest of the Da Correggio family.
In 1403, the troops of Ottobuono de' Terzi, commanded by his brother Giacomo and their Avogari allies, attacked and conquered the structure, then set it ablaze.
In 1409 Galasso Da Correggio reconquered the area and rebuilt a mighty fortified tower on the site of the castle. In 1474, after the childless death of his brother Manfredo, his Parma fiefdoms located along the Enza, including Brescello, Castelnovo, Bazzano and Scurano, were absorbed by the Ducal Chamber of Milan, which invested them with the then Duke of Mortara Ludovico Sforza.

      Continued:
On March 6, 1479, fearing possible attacks on the city of Parma by the inhabitants of Scurano after the long period of rule by the Da Correggio family, Sforza ordered the demolition of the fortified tower.
Shortly afterward, Sforza ceded, in exchange for Castelnuovo di Tortona, the fiefdoms along the Enza River to the Duke of Ferrara, Ercole I d'Este. That same year, he likely built the defensive bastion to guard the territory and appointed members of the Fattori family as its lords of the castle.
In the 17th century, the complex was completely renovated at the behest of the Fattori family, who in 1693 added the loggia to the north of the central courtyard and in 1696 built the oratory to the southeast.
The structure was subsequently divided among various owners.
