The Parroquia Santa María de la Asunción in Tequisquiapan is an important Catholic church with a rich history and impressive architecture. Built in the neoclassical style, with a pink facade and white details, the church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Assumption (Asunción) and was begun in 1744 after an earlier chapel developed structural problems.
