The Hofgarten is the green lung in the middle of the urban area of Düsseldorf. The park owes its diversity to the different views on horticulture that can be seen in its parts. Maximilian Weyhe created an English-style landscape garden in the 19th century, at that time still outside the city walls of Düsseldorf. His art of arranging elevations and gentle valleys in a small space and conjuring up a natural landscape can be seen in the courtyard garden.
