Hiking
Pizzo Leone is a striking mountain overlooking Ronco sopra Ascona on Lake Maggiore. At 1,659 meters, it offers a magnificent panoramic view of the lake, the Magadino plain, and the distant Alpine ranges. The contrast between the deep blue water and the rugged mountain peaks is particularly striking. Popular ascent routes lead either directly from Ronco or, more briefly, from Rasa, which is accessible by cable car. The trail runs through chestnut forests, across alpine meadows, and finally along a narrow ridge. Pizzo Leone is an ideal hike in spring or fall.
