Hiking
The **Amphitheater of Altos de Chavón** is one of the most famous and impressive attractions of this artistic village in the Dominican Republic – located above the Chavón River near La Romana.
### 📍 Architecture and Style
Designed in the **classical Greco-Roman style**, the amphitheater resembles an ancient open-air theater with terraced **stone benches** arranged around the stage. The design is reminiscent of the great amphitheaters of antiquity, with open, natural acoustics and views of the surrounding landscape. ([Dominican Republic Tourism][2])

Hiking
The Altos de Chavon site is a must-see.
The highlight is the amphitheater. A beautiful place to linger and take a break. There's also a lovely spot to relax in front of the entrance, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery 😌.

Hiking
In January 2025, our place was still a construction site. But today, the amphitheater looks beautiful.
