The new biotope on the Bocholter Aa River is located between the Eisenhütte dam and Tonhausenstraße in the Lowick district and was opened in September 2025. It is part of the recultivation of the Bocholter Aa River. It also functions as a retention basin and serves as flood protection. The cycle path was relocated for this purpose and now runs around the biotope.
