Hiking
From the viewpoint overlooking São Gonçalo, you can see the white houses and gardens cascading down the slopes in terraces to the Atlantic Ocean. Behind you, the green mountain ridges rise, in front of you the sea sparkles, and you can make out Funchal's bay in the distance. A perfect spot for a photo stop, to pause for a moment and enjoy the combination of the city panorama and the sea view.
