From 1573 Erich II of Braunschweig-Lüneburg had the Weser Renaissance castle Landestrost built according to French and Italian models at this point.
The castle garden invites you to stroll among the ornamental apple trees, to let your gaze wander over the stately fortress walls over the Leineaue and to walk through the shady hornbeam pergola. The garden was redesigned according to historical model and holds some discoveries ready. Hard to believe that under the garden a casemate walk leads to the castle.
