The Yverdon-les-Bains train station has a rich history that begins with the expansion of the railway in Switzerland. It was inaugurated in 1855 and was the first section of the Pied-du-Jura line. Later, the line was extended to the north and in 1859 the Broye line, which connects Yverdon-les-Bains with Payerne, was opened. On February 1, 1877, the second part of the Broye line was inaugurated, which enabled the connection to Sainte-Croix. The station is not only an important hub for travelers, but also for freight transport.
