A number of well-kept old half-timbered houses with carved wooden panels and inscriptions enliven the townscape. Some of the wrought-iron weather vanes stand on the slate roofs. A building that characterizes the townscape is the Catholic parish church of St. Catherine. In addition, the travel store, the old tithe barn, is a listed building. The Coastal Chapel is also worth seeing. Another listed building is the Josefsheim, a former monastery and sisters' house.
