In 1809, a grain windmill was built in Aselage at a cost of 2500 Reichstalern. The landlord Johann Rudolf Lehmkuhl had after a short time great effort to make the payments to the Landdrosten, because in 1815 at a distance of one hour, three new windmills (rocks, Huckelrieden and Evenkamp) were built. Around 1860 the Aselager mill was demolished and sold to Andorf. In 1860, the mill-builder Dierkes from Hüven built an earth-hanger windmill with a codend at the present site. These mills were used until the middle of the 19th century by the squire in Aselage itself and worried by a miller servant. From 1931, the tenant Bernhard Sanders brought with the "Püttwagen" the millbase from the customers u. a. from the settlement Hahnenmoor, mainly for the purpose of black bread bakery. It was exchanged bread rye for brown bread, 20-25 pounds, one to one. In November 1941, a hurricane damaged the windmill so severely that it had to be taken out of service. The wings were sold to Huckelrieden and installed there in the Schutenmühle, the mill building fell into ruin. The black bread bakery was continued in manual mode. In 1967, the current hotel was built, the windmill restored.

Idyllic restored mill. Right next to it is the Romantik Hotel Aselager Mühle
