The church was built in the second half of the 15th century on the site of an earlier church dating back to 1312. It has been rebuilt several times, including in the 18th century. It suffered significant damage during World War II and was rebuilt in 1971. It is a single-nave, oriented structure of stone and brick, built on a rectangular plan.
