The Rio Negro Palace Cultural Center (CCPRN) was built in 1903 in an eclectic style as the private residence of the wealthy German rubber merchant Karl Waldemar Scholz. It is one of the most iconic buildings of this period, which shaped the state's economy.

The site served as the seat of government and was declared a Historical and Artistic Heritage Site of the State of Amazonas on October 3, 1980. Over the years, it has been renovated, restored, and remodeled, and due to its architectural beauty and historical significance, it has been converted into a cultural center.

The Rio Negro Palace has halls for concerts, exhibitions, book launches, and various cultural activities. The space also houses a dispatch office for the governor and, when needed, an open calendar for official events.
