The bridge has retained its historical appearance to this day. It was built in 1899 using metal structures according to the design of engineer Stanislavs Kerbedz. The bridge has an arched span structure with latticed metal elements and an upper carriageway. The arch itself is not above the span, as is the case with most bridges, but below it, which makes it a unique object in the context of the region. In 1944, the bridge was blown up, but was soon restored – in 1947.
