Located on Rheinallee in Oestrich-Winkel, the Hotel Zum Schwan dates back to 1628. The main building, originally built at that time, initially served as a lodging house for bargemen. Its proximity to the loading crane on the banks of the Rhine was ideal for the bargemen, who delivered Rheingau wine from here to the cities of Cologne and Frankfurt am Main.
