The Dora 1 submarine bunker in Trondheim, Norway, was built by the German Navy during World War II. Construction began in May 1941 and was completed on June 20, 1943. It served the 13th U-boat Flotilla as a protected base for repairs and protection from air raids. Dora 1 is 153 m long, 105 m wide, with 3 m thick walls and a 3.5 m thick concrete roof. It had space for 16 submarines. After the war, demolition was rejected as it would have damaged the surrounding area. Today, Dora 1 houses an archive, a bowling alley, and other facilities.
