Being only about 8 miles from Leadville, this location makes it easy to resupply or find lodging before or after your hike. This particular segment is notable for its inclusion in the Continental Divide Trail (CDT), adding to its significance for long-distance hikers. As you ascend, you'll be treated to fantastic vistas of the Mosquito Range and the Arkansas River Valley from higher elevations.
