According to local legend, the site for the construction of the temple in Undol was chosen by the Virgin Mary herself. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God appeared twice at the spring, at the foot of the hill. It was decided to lay the foundation of a new stone temple next to the spring. Perhaps the appearance of the icon determined the dedication of the temple - to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The temple was built in 1693-1697 on the site of the wooden Resurrection Church. This spring has been deeply revered by believers since about the 16th century. Hopelessly ill people were brought here in carts and, often, after washing themselves with water, they returned home on their own feet. It was located within the boundaries of Suvorov's estate in the village of Undol. The great commander himself visited this spring when his legs hurt badly. The history of the Kazan Church is inextricably linked with the name of Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, the owner of the village of Undol, which he inherited after the death of his father in 1775. Here he lived in 1784-1785 in a small log manor house, which stood not far from the church. Here he wrote his famous treatise "The Science of Victory".

At his own expense, Suvorov restored the church, renovated the frescoes, and built a new fence, which has survived to this day. In the 1780s, a heated chapel of St. Sergius was added at the expense of the commander. Everything necessary for the church was brought in on six horses. This was the only personal convoy of the prince-generalissimo.

Only the remains of the park have survived from the Suvorov estate itself. According to legend, the linden trees in this park were planted by A.V. Suvorov himself.
