The monument, dedicated to the Fallen of the Great War, consists of a five-meter obelisk topped by a bronze eagle with a 1.20-meter wingspan. The base is bordered by four 240 mm bombs, granted as relics by the then Ministry of War. The construction of the monument was made possible thanks to donations and contributions from residents, some of whom, in order to raise funds, even formed a "dramatic society": the proceeds from the theatrical performances were used to build the monument, which was finally officially inaugurated on November 12, 1922.SOURCE:
