Since January 1945, 27 members of the Biłgoraj Home Army (AK) were imprisoned in the Biłgoraj prison, including five employees of the municipal power plant, at least 10 intelligence officers from the Home Army District and Region, and seven soldiers from the Biłgoraj partisan unit of Reserve Second Lieutenant Józef Stegliński, nom de guerre Cord, who died on June 25, 1944, near Osuchy.
