The Waldenburg was built in the 13th century by the Lords of Waldenburg. It is inhabited until today and therefore can not be visited, but is still worth a visit, especially in the summer months.

The Wildenburg is a hilltop castle from the 13th Century and was the ancestral home of the Lords of Wildenburg, after which also the surrounding area "Wildenburger Land" is named.
The buildings are privately owned.

The hiking trail leads directly past the inhabited Waldenburg, which unfortunately can only be admired from the outside. But still worth a visit.
