The rock group known as “Thick Stones” is actually called “Am Stein” and consists of basalt rock. The basalt columns, which are up to six meters high, are surrounded by a block of rubble on which broken basalt blocks have accumulated. On an information board you can find out everything about the geological and historical significance of this locality.
There is also a covered bench nearby, where you can linger a little and have a great view of the landscape.
