On 14.09.1890 the solemn laying of the foundation stone for the protestant chapel took place. The Protestant chapel was built outside the predominantly Catholic village of Witterda, just outside the city of Erfurt in Thuringia. It was built in a very short construction time, because the inauguration ceremony took place on 11.10.1891. The construction costs (at that time approx. 18000 RM) were covered by donations mainly from the Gustav-Adolf-Werk. Source:
