A wooden chapel was built on Peterberg in the 13th century. Since 1578, a "free market" was held on the Peterberg every Monday after the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was first relocated to Sötern in the 17th century and completely abandoned in 1838 due to "addiction to drink, brawls and games". When the market was closed, the chapel fell into disrepair. It was not rebuilt until 1983.Info: nonnweiler.de/tourismus/sehensenswert/peterbergkapelle
