A wooden chapel was built here in the 13th century. From 1578, a "free market" was held on the Peterberg every Monday after the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was initially relocated to Sötern in the 17th century and completely abandoned in 1838 due to "drunkenness, fights and games". When the market was closed, the chapel fell into disrepair. It was only rebuilt in 1983.Info: bostalsee.de/sehenswerte/kirchen-und-kapellen/detail/peterbergkapelle-auf-dem-peterberg-bei-braunshausen

Chapel at the fork in the road. It is not closed and is evidently well attended, which the many lighted candles on 2 candle plates suggest. Nice chapel with attractive grounds around it.

Nice chapel with beautiful surroundings. It is only a stone's throw to Bostalsee.
