Built during the Cold War, this massive Yugoslav military complex was designed to withstand a nuclear attack and housed fighter jets hidden deep inside Mount Plješevica. The base was abandoned and partially destroyed during the 1990s Balkan conflicts.

Today, the runway is a surreal cycling destination:
-Perfectly straight, surrounded by nature
-No traffic, only wind and birdsong
-Epic photo opportunities with decaying infrastructure
