The Corte Nuovo mountain hut is located at an altitude of 1635 m on the ridge that forms the watershed between the Onsernone and Centovalli valleys. Built on the ruins of an old hut from the alpine pasture of the same name, it was inaugurated on July 29, 2017, and can be reached from either side after about two hours of hiking. It is a stopover for those wishing to climb Pizzo Ruscada, but also a popular rest stop for hikers on multi-day treks to or from other regions of Ticino or the nearby Valle Vigezzo, as well as for those who decide to stop to admire the magnificent panorama that stretches from the banks of the Verbano River to the numerous mountains of the region. It consists of a single room serving as a kitchen/living room, above which there is a loft with six beds, complete with mattresses, pillows, and duvets.
