The sculpture, called "Le Veneur," depicts a mounted hunter—a hound catcher or hunter—leading or preparing his horse. This bronze version explicitly references the hunting hobby of Henri Gallice, the former owner of Château Perrier. He commissioned this sculpture from the French sculptor Pierre Le Nordez around 1856, as a symbol of his passion for horseback riding and hunting.
