The first mention of the village of Yaryshevo is found in the "Conclusion of the Grand Duke Vasily Vasilyevich with the Galitsky princes Dmitry Shemyaka and Dmitry Krasny Yuryevich", concluded in 1434, after their victory over the eldest Yuryevich - Vasily Kosoy. The charter mentions the son-in-law of Vasily II, the Suzdal prince Alexander Ivanovich Bryukhaty, who owed the uncle of the Grand Duke Yury Dmitrievich, the son of Dmitry Donskoy, 500 rubles, for which he paid with the villages of Gavrilovskoye, Yaryshev and Ivanovskoye. In the cadastral books of the Gavrilovskaya Sloboda for 1632-1633 it is written that in order to provide the stud farm and the people serving it with grain provisions, several villages were assigned to the farm, including Yaryshevo. The village in the past was not only large, but also rich. More than a hundred people were engaged in industrial hop growing. The products of the Yaryshevo hop growers were delivered to Finland to the brewing company founded by the Semibryukhov brothers, Gavrilovo-Posad merchants. It is worth mentioning that in Yaryshevo, the Malafeev family established production of the famous Yaryshevo brick in the second half of the 18th century. It was so strong that they would throw a brick out of a second-floor window on a bet and it would not break. It was from this brick that the beautiful church was built in 1777.

The St. George Church was built with funds from the palace stable department according to the design and under the supervision of St. Petersburg architects. The bell tower, unlike the church itself, was built in the traditions of the Kostroma school of architecture. The church was very lucky: it was one of the few in the Gavrilovo-Posad district that was neither destroyed nor closed during the Soviet period. The temple remained active in the district for a long time and was the closest to Gavrilov Posad. People even came from Ivanovo to pray there. There were two choirs. The last restoration of the temple was carried out in 1972. At the same time, it was divided into two halves by a partition. In the western part, a second altar was built and consecrated in honor of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Winter frames and a stove were installed. This part began to function as a "winter" one. The church is included in the list of architectural monuments of regional significance. Repairs and maintenance of the temple in proper condition are carried out at the expense of parishioners and donations from individuals. Currently, the work that has begun on repairing the roof of the dome and the onion dome, as well as whitewashing the facade, has been suspended due to lack of funds.
