Within the fortress, in the easternmost part of the village, lies Rua dos Quartéis, where the old barracks of the medieval village stand. Two buildings in carved stone, with a rectangular plan. One side is attached to the castle walls. The elevations are rhythmically arranged by successive doors and punctuated by chimneys. This is the typological formula used in these barracks.
