Extraordinary: The Tretstein waterfall (also called Trettstein waterfall) emerges from the sandstone of the Spessart and there are very idyllic paths all around.

Small but nice waterfall. After the rain, the partly narrow paths are very slippery.

See nice little, waterfall-well signposted path. Recommended for someone hiking from afar, you should be sure-footed in any case, the slope is very steep. Not suitable for strollers, wheelchair users and cyclists.

Despite the "diversion" due to the closure (since 2021: the fencing around the private meadow from the Baumhotel See-Mühle and a bridge there dismantled), the Gräfendorfer Trettstein is still worth a visit. Mountain bike difficult but possible ("right" / east bank).

The Trettstein is located in the Eidenbach, exactly on the district border Main-Spessart (MSP) in the west and Bad Kissingen (KG) in the east.

It starts e.g. from the south
[from Waizenbach just after the bend of the St 2303 just before Gräfendorf]
on the * right * bank of the Waizenbach. The left bank is unfortunately closed because access / private property from the Baumhotel See-Mühle!

Further north it goes over a wooden footbridge / bridge to the left and then further north along the flowing Eidenbach.

Of course, you can also start anywhere between Gräfendorf and Dittlofsroda on Eidenbacher Weg. However, this side is mostly much steeper and partially closed (fencing!)

A downright mystical little waterfall, if you are lucky enough to enjoy it alone

If you can enjoy it alone, it exudes an almost mystical atmosphere

There is also a small resting place at the waterfall. However, this is not considered.
At the beginning of June 2021, the railing of the bridge over the stream at the waterfall was broken / destroyed.

The Tretstein waterfall is a beautiful little waterfall that can be easily walked from Gräfendorf, but it can also be easily reached via the Eidenbacher from above
