The Georgian Orthodox church, dating from the 8th to 10th centuries, is a hall-shaped structure made of carefully carved stone blocks. Parts of the eastern and southern walls have been preserved from the original structure. Basalt stones of various sizes were used in the restoration of the church in the late Middle Ages. In the 20th century, the church received a reinforced concrete roof.
