The Ouluska lean-to is one of several lean-tos that are open to Northville-Placid Trail hikers. They are first come, first serve, so it's a good idea to have a tent with you just in case the lean-to is full.
If you are traveling west on the trail, once you pass the lean-to, you will be in the most remote location in NY State, according to the Open Space Institute.
