Built at the end of the 17th century on the site of a moated castle first mentioned in 1380. Located directly on the Black Elster, a two-story brick building with a tower with a tail hood. Privately owned, viewing possible by arrangement

Hemsendorf Moated Castle: is a historic gem near Wittenberg, located in a district of Jessen. It was built in 1697 on the foundations of a medieval moated castle. The stepped, octagonal tower at the southeast corner is particularly striking. The castle is now privately owned and is being lovingly restored by the Köhler family. Only the castle chapel and the surrounding park are open to the public by appointment.
