The so-called 5-mark oak is located in the Guttau enclosure in the Kellenhusener forest and is freely accessible.
It is a pedunculate oak of about 26 meters in height with a trunk circumference of about 6 m, whose age is estimated at 350 years. The oak has received its name because it served Maximilian Dasio as a model for the design of the back on the stamped from 1927 to 1933 5-Reichsmark coin with the motif of an "oak tree".

    Baum has died since 2012.
In nature, the oak is much more impressive than in the photos 👍🏻

In the state forest, which borders the Klostersee farm, there were oaks up to 1000 years old, the royal oak and the crown oak. However, both of these are no longer available. There is also the 5-mark oak, which is said to have served as a model for the design of the face on the 5-Reichsmark coin minted from 1927 to 1933, as well as the water level oak, whose memorial stone reminds of the water level of the storm flood in November 1872 .

Unfortunately, the stately 5-mark oak in the Kellenhusener Forest seems to have been dying off for several years.
