South of the Pesto Roundabout is the entrance to the Achille Dapelo Urban Park, dedicated to Dr. Achille Dapelo, a respected Praino physician who died during the 1993 flood. The park was inaugurated in 2002, along with the Fascia di Garanzia (Reserve Strip), the Canale di Calma (Calm Channel), and the Campo di Regatta (Race Field), as a sign of rebirth after the devastation of the coastline caused by the construction of the Pra' Port Basin.
