We cross Piazza Costanzo Laura until we reach the pedestrian crossing at the base of Via Taggia. We look to the right, along the slope of Via Taggia, to glimpse the DOP basil greenhouses. This is where the unmistakable aroma of true Genoese pesto is born, unique in its quality and aroma. Looking to the left, we can notice the pesto rotunda, in the center of which stands a large white stone mortar and pestle. This monument is dedicated to the traditional preparation of Genoese pesto, of which Prà basil is a key ingredient.
