Niedererbach is located in the south of the Westerwald low mountain range in the north-east of the Eppenroder plateau (Niederwesterwald), near the main natural spatial unit of the Limburg Basin in Hesse.
It is located 10.5 km east-southeast of Montabaur, 5.5 km southwest of Hadamar and 7.5 km (as the crow flies) northwest of Limburg an der Lahn.
The Erbach and the smaller streams of the Willbach, which flows into the Fischbach and the Sandbach, both of which in turn flow into the Erbach, flow through it.
